In the Moment of Desire

It is New Year’s Eve and I just received an email from Angela (New Times Managing Editor) stating that she is still accepting articles for the theme of “Desire” for the February issue.  At first I didn’t think I had anything to share.  Also, I had already made plans for my morning and felt I needed to ‘stick to them.’

You see I have a desire to make some new mediation CD’s.  This morning I planned to write the introductory script. Then I received Angela’s email.  What to do?  You see, every time I sit down to work on my meditation CD’s or plan to take the next step in this desire, something seems to take my attention or draw me to another project.  This morning is no exception, as you can well see.

So, what happens when our desires seem to sit there in front of us ~ staring back at us like a child patiently waiting for us to take her to the zoo?  We have told her a 1,000 times - “Yes we are going!” yet we have not made a move toward the door.  By now the child has moved through the excitement of going, the disappointment of waiting, and is patiently sitting with shoes and socks on, ready to walk out the door as soon as we grab the car keys.  That is how I see my meditation CD project.  As soon as the rest of me is ready, as soon as all the energies align, it will take off in the every present now moment!

Because I know the desire to create these CD’s is an expression of my Spirit, my expression of Source, I trust that it will be created in perfect timing.  I also trust that these ‘alternate paths,’ which seem to come my way when I am ready to work on the project, are all part of the plan.  I trust that these projects take me to another level that will allow my CD to be an even higher expression of my love, peace, joy, my light as Spirit and therefore take on the energies to bless others in higher way.

I believe most people by now would have looked at these alternative projects as ‘obstacles’ and said something like, “Well, I guess I wasn’t supposed to do that.  This is God’s way of showing me I should let that idea go.”  I believe that in some cases this is true and our intuition will show us the way.  In this case, I feel it is making the desire stronger and the final result will be even better than before. Being in the moment with my desire to create, I can feel all of the supporting energies and new awareness as I come closer to birthing this project.

There is another group of people who might see procrastination around this desire.  This comes from a myriad of reasons.  What will others think?  What if I fail?  What if I spend all this time and energy and it doesn’t work? How will I make the extra time to work on it?   How will I get the money?   What if I get it right?  How will I deal with all the _________?  Fear sets in and the wheels of motion are stalled. You lose the fire of your desire and the results never come to fruition. The ever present, now moment releases us from all these fears and judgments. All I have to do is be open in this moment for ‘what is next.’  Then all my desires will materialize with ease ~ little effort and great joy.

I also know that others would be numb to their desire by now.  They would envision it as something that sits in the back room of their consciousness, dieing on the vine, never realizing its full potential.  They would reflect on it as a missed opportunity, sharing with friends and family over lunch about how good it could have been.  They relish the idea of the desire, but never actualize it.  The more they do not express their passions and desires, the more numb they become to their infinite potential.  The power to ignite your desire is in the present moment allowing the passion of your energy to fuel your desire into creation.  Feel it! Dance with it! Enjoy!

I share all of this with you so that you have the opportunity to witness a possible reason or greater plan as to why your desire has not materialized yet.  I invite you to sit and be with your desire in the now moment.  Move out of the mental analysis and judgment.  BE with it from the perspective of Spirit and sit with it in your heart.  Have you held it for a long time?  Does it really sing to the authenticity of your Spirit?  Has it taken a different form, become more refined in your vision?  Do you still feel excited about it?  If so, continue on with your desire.  If not, let it go with joy.

Remember your desire is your expression of Source as love, as creator on Earth.  Your desire is perfect in and of itself as there is only one you on this Earth… Your creation is a gift to us all!

Namaste & Enjoy Life!

In Loving Oneness,

Marilu
