Wisdom is the Proof
By

“Wisdom is not finally tested in the schools, Wisdom cannot be
pass'd from one having it to another not having it, Wisdom is of the soul, is
not susceptible of proof, is its own proof.”
~
Walt Whitman, American Poet, 1819-1892
The old
adage says that a teacher will learn just as much from her students as her
students learn from her. Through the questions
and reflections of my students I am often enlightened to new energies,
awareness and understanding through the experience of “All That Is.” I am wiser.
This
recently occurred in one of our classes during 90 Days in the Energies of Enlightenment ~ The Class. The student was so excited about new
information that was being presented.
There was discussion of energy fields, auras, kinesiology, Spirit,
intuition, etc. However, for her mind,
she could not embrace all of this as it was not proven to her by science. Yet, she personally experienced all of
it. She experienced energy in her and
around her. She experienced the benefits
of kinesiology. She knew herself as
Spirit. Yet, her question still
remained, “What proof do we have?”
Taking
her questions to heart, I reflected on how she could have direct experience of
all of these topics and more, yet still feel as if she needed proof from an
outside source. I further reflected upon
how one integrates knowledge and experience, taking it for their own in
creating wisdom. Does one have to feel
validated by science to believe in one’s own experience, wisdom and truth? Does the lack of validation of science make
the experience or the ‘truth’ any less real?
For example, did gravity cease to exist before Isaac Newton explained it
to us? Did the Black Hole cease to exist
until we actually experienced it via our scientific equipment? While these questions may sound a little ‘absurd’
and ‘obvious’ in their answers, they seemed relevant for the exploration as to
how and why we integrate knowledge into our being as wisdom.
Currently,
I have the honor of participating in a televised, network broadcast, daytime
talk show as their expert Spiritual Life Coach.
In my latest interview, I was waiting in the ‘Green Room’ and had the
pleasure of speaking with one of the other guests before we began taping. We shared information about our topics for
the day. She further shared some personal
stories, somewhat discounting part of her intuitive experiences as being correct
only 50% of the time. I shared with her
insight that came to me regarding her experiences. She stopped, listened and reflected on what I
said. She responded with gratitude, “You
are a very wise woman.” I smiled and
said “Thank You.”
This
experience was a gift to me, as again, I was embraced by wisdom and how people
experience it. For my friend in the
‘Green Room,’ she experienced a shift within her perspective that caused a
release of limitations and expansion into a place of empowerment. She also began to understand that sometimes
she is making a difference beyond what her mind may have in “proof” at the time
and to trust her intuition. This caused a feeling of vibrancy to build within
her. She embraced her new wisdom based
on the total experience of Spirit, mind and body. When I offered her new information, she took
it in and all aspects of her body shifted and aligned, no longer feeling
separate from one another. As a result,
she deemed this to be wisdom and expressed her gratitude as such. She
experienced an integration of all aspects of her being and experienced wisdom.
The experience of wisdom was her proof.
Wisdom
is the ability to discern what is true, right or lasting. It is insight, enlightenment. Wisdom is linked to a direct experience
within all aspects of our being as truth for ourselves. As I type these words, I come to embrace
wisdom as a full experience of integrating the Spirit, mind and body in a whole
new way. I am wiser for the
experience. Wisdom is an expression of
Spirit, it is understood by the mind and causes the body to feel vibrant, alive
and yet peaceful. Do we need an outside
source to confirm it is true for us? I
do not believe so. I agree with my
“brother” Walt as stated above, “Wisdom is the proof.”
